Working in the hospital as a gynecologist, I have seen many patients asking the question about PCOS AND PREGNANCY. Women’s think that if they are suffering with PCOS, they can’t get pregnant. Well, that not true. There is a high risk in this situation but yes you can get pregnant.

 

WHAT ARE PCOS

The abbreviation of PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome. This syndrome leads to acne issues, irregular periods, fertility problems, weight gain, anxiety and depression, facial hair growth and many other issues.  Due to PCO syndrome the eggs are not fully developed and are not ripe. This leads to swear complications during pregnancy or increase risk of miscarriage.

Women’s with PCOS, their pregnancy can have complications; babies born are at higher risk of dying before or after birth. With the help of fertility medication you can overcome such risks. Metformin modulate the quantity of insulin in your blood but use this if recommended by your doctor. Letrozole, gonadotropins, clomiphene citrate etc are fertility drugs that heel in ovulation. A research proves that by eating one teaspoon of cinnamon daily, helps to regulate insulin, which will act as an affective way to methodize your periods and improve your chance for conceiving.

HOW TO REDUCE RISK RATE DURING PCOS AND PREGNANCY

After conceiving, you may undergo several complications. The risk of miscarriage is more as compare to other women’s. Risk of heart diseases, diabetes, endometrial cancer and blood pressure is more. If 9 months of your pregnancy is over and now it’s the time of delivery, go for c-section option. This will reduce the risk of baby death.

During pregnancy you should take proper care of your health. Follow the instruction of your doctor. Eat healthy food, go for walk daily and stay active. Take proper rest. This will reduce the risk of complications.
