Baby Foods

Baby And Toddler foods

Making your own homemade baby foods is easy. When you first introduce your baby to solids it doesn’t take long to prepare a few simple purees. By doing this, not only will you save money, but you will also know that you are using only the best quality organic ingredients, with no artificial additives or flavourings.

Try either lightly boiling or steaming fruit and vegetables, until cooked, then puree, using a blender or food processor, until smooth. When your child is a little older, between six and nine months, you can adjust the texture of the puree as your baby begins to chew. Giving your baby a selections of tastes early on, will help your child accept new flavours throughout the first
habit-forming 12 months of his or her life.

Most foods can be frozen for future meals, so it is a good plan to make more than is needed for one meal. After preparing the purees, allow to cool, then freeze in ice-cube trays until Hard. When frozen, knock the cubes out and store in freezer bags labeled with the date and what the puree is. Fruit and vegetable purees can be frozen for up to six months, meat and chicken for up to two months. It’s always a good idea to text the temperature of the food before giving it to your baby and server it just warm.
